Uplifting Story

This weekend I posted some of my new tag necklaces on ETSY. As I have mentioned before I sell my jewelry at a local salon in Ridgeland, Caresty's. One of the orders I had was from a lady who wanted 3 necklaces (2 "believe" and 1 "faith"). She originally wanted them in the small tags, but I did not have "faith" in the small ones do I made one of the others and told her if she liked it, she could buy it, if not, it would be ok. Caresty called the end of last week and told me she bought it and loved it. She proceeded to tell me that lady's son had died in her arms several years ago. Her son was an organ donor and one of his organs went to a girl, which saved her life so I am told. She has kept in contact with this girl over the past couple of years and the girl is the one she bought the "faith" necklace for.

That's a great story to me!!! There needs to be more people in the world like that. Someone who has selfless and genuine care for another person, regardless the pain or feelings it may bring onto themselves.

We all tend to lose sight of the things that are important to us that stare us in the face everyday. We tend to want and want for things and never be satisfied, when some people out there are willing to give everything they have for just a particular moment in time. I am guilty of this myself and it is something I try to keep in the front of head at all times and give of myself a lot, but still have those really selfish moments when I should be ashamed.

I think we should challenge ourselves to reach out to others and make a difference for the betterment of mankind, along with our own lives. We need to set examples for our children to follow so that they can give back and make a difference in someone else's life. They learn what they know and see. Really, what harm could not being selfish really do? Make the day for someone else, set a good example, from a smile to some one's face? You never know when something you do for someone can completely change the path of some one's life. The small print however, the same reaction can occur when we do things to someone that is selfish.... ?? That can make you think for sure!!!! I have to remind myself of that all the time.

Okay.. well I guess I have been on "the box" for long enough. I just wanted to share that because it is a good story and I think much inspiration can be drawn from it.

Remember the challenge and until next time....

The Gossip Hour

Have you ever been just so fed up with gossip and trouble makers? It gets really old quick when you have to deal with this type of behavior daily from grown adults. This is worse than middle school I think!!!! It's very amusing, but can get very frustrating at times. The funny thing is that the ones who like to start it, are like a pot calling the kettle black, "jet" black (if you catch the drift)!

I do not think my pre-teen daughter, who IS a drama-queen has as much drama around her as I do. I think where my frustration comes in is that I cannot for the life of me even remotely comprehend the driving force of these type of people. Why is one so determined to try and cause plain misery for someone else for NO reason, pure hatred? I would love for someone to explain that to me......

Anyway.. that subject now has wasted enough of my attention for the day so I will move on!! Just needed to vent I suppose.. Just puzzles me?!??!!

Until next time.....

New Line

Good morning to all and I hope that everyone had a great weekend! The later part of last week I got my stuff in to start doing my stamping and oxidizing silver. Last night, I FINALLY got to start working on them. I made my daughter's teacher an pair of earrings that had her initials on them and they turned out so good. Then I made three sets of earrings that I hammered and oxidized and I love them. It is a little time consuming but all worth it in the end result. I am so pleased with these and excited about it. Now that I have my midterm behind me (and we will not discuss that any further) I plan on devoting some time to turn this stuff out and get my ETSY updated. I also have a craft show coming up in Novemeber that I have to start preparing for. I am excited about this stuff. I can't wait to show it to all of you. Going to take some pics in just a bit and I will add it to site.

Well, I just wanted to share my latest excitement. Let me know what you think when I get the pictures added. Feed back is always good.

I hope you all have a great and wonderful day!!!
Until then...

I am ready to get started...

Well I had another sale on etsy from one of my fellow mississippians. Still very excited. I am dedicating this weekend and next week to get my etsy updated and new things listed. (JUST have to get the midterm :( over with.) I am excited because I just got my stuff in to do the metal stamping finally. I am looking forward to that and have been for some time now. I also am about to venture of in medical clay. This stuff amazes me. This is something my mother and I are about to do together, which makes it even more excited. She makes dollhouse minitures and has an AMAZING talent with clay already, so I am very anxious to get started in both of these endevours. I want this week to be over, or atleast til Friday noon.

I will keep you updated on my progress. I am looking forward to it.

ETSY 1st SALE

Hello to all and I hope that you all find yourself well. This week has been challenging, both personally and work wise, BUT I am soooo excited, because I had my very first sale on ETSY this week. I sold a pair of earring and they were only for $8.00, but you would have thought I sold $1000.00 worth of stuff judging by my excitement. I called everyone I knew; some that had no idea that I even was selling my jewelry!!! I have been pumped about it all week. I bet I spent 1/2 an hour wrapping it because I wanted it to be perfect!!!

Ok... enough I know and those who sell on ETSY and have had their first sale, know where all the babbling is coming from...

Another note as far as ETSY is concerned. I made some sterling chain necklaces that have a small tag (various one word sayings) and a tiny cross on them. Very simple and very dainty. I put several in the shop that I sale in and they were gone within a week. I have also received orders for 5 more. I decided to make a pair of earrings with the same tags to see how they would do, but then I decided to send them to my first ETSY customer as a "happy". After this week is over with and I can get past all of the work and homework (midterms), I am going to put some on the ETSY site, so don't forget to check them out simplytaylored@etsy.com. They will make great gifts..

Well I am off to get some of my work behind me!

Until then.....
